About Blackburn College Creative Arts

The Class of 2020 have made history.
At Blackburn College we have a rich and vibrant experience of developing students into strong, confident industry professionals. This year we have our first generation of blended learning creative arts students, our History Makers. In January we had corridors buzzing with energy, by March these had become zoom rooms and online learning spaces bursting with creativity and camaraderie.
They started the year with a fantastic range of live briefs with companies, visiting Barcelona & New York, exhibiting their work in public galleries and attending live arena work experience with Liam Gallagher and The 1975. However, within a matter of hours of news of the closure of schools and colleges they had migrated their creative arts studies online to learn from home.
To our students; fly, always let your experience contribute to your success, don’t let anyone speak of what you have missed. You’ve created this work in the most unique environment laying the path for generations of students who will learn from all that you have discovered. You’ve shown resilience, adaptability and determination, for this you will be all the stronger in your careers.
We very much hope you enjoy viewing the work that has been produced by so many of our Further and Higher Education learners during this unique time in such a range of disciplines.
We wish you all the very best success for your futures.
Annie Kerfoot
Head of School for Creative & Digital.
